IEP forms & systems
No single mandated statewide IEP system. Districts, including Clark County and Washoe County, run their own IEP platforms on NDE-aligned forms.

Where Nevada differs from the federal baseline

  • Initial evaluations run on a 45 school day clock from informed written consent, not the federal 60 calendar days (NAC 388.337).
  • A public agency can ask the Superintendent of Public Instruction for an extension of up to 15 school days on the initial evaluation deadline (NAC 388.337).
  • The IEP of a pupil who is 14 must address the pupil's courses of study as part of transition planning (NAC 388.133; NAC 388.281).

Current monitoring priorities

  • Initial evaluation timeline compliance (Indicator 11)
  • Secondary transition IEP content (Indicator 13)
  • Correction of noncompliance within one year of identification
