How we configure Ohio
Evaluation clock
The initial evaluation must be completed within 60 calendar days of receiving parental consent. Before that, the district has 30 calendar days from a request for evaluation to either obtain consent or give prior written notice of refusal. (Ohio Admin. Code 3301-51-06).
Initial IEP meeting
A meeting to develop the IEP must be held within 30 calendar days of the determination that the child needs special education and related services. (Ohio Admin. Code 3301-51-07; 34 CFR § 300.323(c)(1)).
Goal alignment
SMART goals aligned to Ohio's Learning Standards, plus functional and adaptive domains.
