Where Ohio differs from the federal baseline
- A district has 30 calendar days from a request for evaluation to obtain parental consent or issue prior written notice of refusal (Ohio Admin. Code 3301-51-06).
- Reevaluations carry their own 60-day completion clock running from parent consent (Ohio Admin. Code 3301-51-06).
- Evaluation results are documented in an Evaluation Team Report (ETR), the Ohio term for the multifactored evaluation report.
- Transition planning must be in the IEP in effect when the student turns 14 (Ohio Admin. Code 3301-51-07).
Current monitoring priorities
- Initial evaluation timeline compliance (Indicator 11)
- Secondary transition IEP content beginning at age 14 (Indicator 13)
- Significant disproportionality in identification and discipline
